Largest independent oil and energy company of Western Europe
On Wednesday North Sea Group made a considerable contribution to the world’s first commercial flight using sustainable kerosene. Due to the company’s wide expertise in the field of biofuels the regular KLM scheduled flight from Schiphol to Paris departed around 12.45 hours, flying on 50% sustainable kerosene as fuel. KLM will make around 200 flights on this route between September and the end of the year using this sustainable kerosene; half of which comprises fossil fuel and half fuel derived from used cooking oil. As such the North Sea Group is contributing towards an important milestone in the transition of using sustainable fuels in aviation.
